Curious, If True by Leilei Wu: creatures developed by algorithms

Project selected among the 10 must-see exhibitions in the Alcova design district, for our DWalking guide dedicated to Milan Design Week 2022.

The sculptural installations by Chinese designer and artist Leilei Wu explore an original use of 3D print: machines do part of the work, later completed by the human hand for the final assembly.

The original shapes of the “creatures” are developed by algorithms: organic forms blend with a hyper-digital aesthetic, leading the conversation on the topic of what is real vs imaginary in an ever-more tech-infused world where synthesis and creation become synonymous.
