On 5 December 2018, all designers who have graduated within the past five years are cordially invited to apply for one of these places.\n\n\n\nCalling all up-and-coming designers.\n\n\n\nThe Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019 is giving away 50 free registration places for the Young Professionals Application Day. \n\n\n\nThey can enter their product in the competition, which will feature designers and brands from all over the globe.\n\n\n\nYoung professionals who win an award can look forward to further support from Red Dot, with measures that include showcasing their products in international exhibitions. \n\n\n\n\u00a9 Red Dot\n\n\n\nA successful start to a professional career\n\n\n\nRed Dot Award laureates garner a great deal of attention. \n\n\n\nThis privilege is not reserved for established designers and companies alone. \n\n\n\nYoung talents who are helping to shape our future and winning us over with new ideas and designs should be able to show the world that their products are outstanding. \n\n\n\nThis is why Red Dot will be giving away fifty free places to young professionals on 5 December 2018. \n\n\n\nParticipation is limited to up-and-coming designers who have graduated within the past five years. \n\n\n\nThey have a choice of 48 different categories in which to enter their products \u2013 from living room furniture and seats to materials and surfaces or robot technology and healthcare. \n\n\n\nThe application process is simple.\n\n\n\n From midnight, an application portal will open up for 24 hours. \n\n\n\nTo register, graduates just need to provide a brief description, product images and a scanned copy of their degree. \n\n\n\n\u00a9 Red Dot\n\n\n\nJury tests each individual product\n\n\n\nThe 50 designs by these designers setting out on their professional career are tested in detail by the roughly 40-member jury together with the other entries. \n\n\n\nThe experts try out every single product, focusing on criteria such as the level of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, longevity and self-explanatory nature. \n\n\n\nOnly those objects that win them over through good design quality receive an award.\n\n\n\n\u00a9 Red Dot\n\n\n\nA stage for talented designers\n\n\n\nIf the up-and-coming designers win an award, they get support from Red Dot in order to communicate their success prominently at an international level. \n\n\n\nUse of the well-known Red Dot label for the award-winning product as well as its presentation in exhibitions around the globe and online are just some of the sought-after benefits reserved exclusively for the winners.\n\n\n\nAdditionally, the laureates are presented in the Red Dot Design Yearbook, which depicts the current status of product design and is sold in 64 countries.\n\n\n\n\u00a9 Red Dot\n\n\n\nAlready established in your career?\n\n\n\nAll those who graduated more than five years ago can register their products in the competition up until 9 January 2019 as part of the regular entry phase. \n\n\n\nLatecomers still have time until 1 February.
