ElectroDermis is a fabrication approach that simplifies wearable electronic patches which monitor the human body and make the data available keeping in mind comfort, style and feasibility.

It is a new kind of wireless and stretchable bandage looking to replace the more permanent implants and gadgets that companies have been creating.

ElectroDermis is the result of the collaboration between Morphing Matter Lab, a human-computer interaction institute and Soft Machines Lab, specialists in integrating soft materials for human- compatible electronics.

This temporary bodily adornment stresses on impermanence and allows the wearer a complete health-fitness tracking calculation, information storage or even as an interactive bandage.

The bandages are customized for different parts conforming to the dynamic nature of the human body.

The patches of ElectroDermis are fabricated first by designing the shape on Auto Cad, which is adapted to match a specific part of the body, and then these Cad files are used as a reference to cut the layers of the patch.

The layers consist of electronic circuits with sensors, and additional layers to protect the circuit and provide temporary adhesion on the skin.

Finally, the layers are laminated together with heat to form a single patch.

ElectroDermis bandages offer the wearer complete mobility with a variety of exchangeable formats and colors which keep track of everything from essential signs to joint movement.
