Google Link: a digital solution for urban dwellers

An all-in-one technology solution that is carefully tailored to the contemporary life’s needs.
Technology is playing an increasingly important role in people’s lives, from controlling their homes to work and entertainment.
Designer Michio Papers has introduced a brilliant concept that can substitute all devices that people use with a single device.

Google Link: Designed for Contemporary Living
With 80% of people aged between 22-36 prefer to live in urban areas, the needs and usage trends of young urban dwellers has been the focus of Michio’s new proposed device, Link.

Since Google already has a strong product ecosystem with solutions like Google Assistant and Chromecast pushing for cross-device integration, Michio has designed Link to work with that ecosystem.

His design goals were to make Link transferable from a home-based device to on the go, be reconfigurable in different scenarios and fitting into the Google environment.

Michio’s device, Link, consists of four different parts that can be split into 4 different pieces:
- speaker
- tablet
- keyboard
- dock
Depending on the users need, those pieces can be split or combined together as a single device.
When heading out, the parts can be snapped together with ease.

Extreme Versatility
Users can easily use Google Link as a full laptop with a keyboard and a separate touchpad or as a tablet by removing the keyboard.
This versatility allows Link to fit different needs and different scenarios as an all-in-one solution.

Thanks to its integration with Google, Link can also be used as a digital assistant.
Similar to Google Home, Link is always listening and ready to answer any question when asked.

The integrated speaker system makes Link capable of replacing a device such as Google Home as well.
What’s great about Google Link isn’t what it does, it’s all it does.

With its ability to substitute so many essential devices, Link is an all-in-one technology solution that is carefully tailored to the contemporary life’s needs.
