The ADF Milano Salone Design Award 2022 winner project invites us to imagine things being beautifully ruined with its collection of objects that can be rebuilt while falling apart.

Inspired by sand casting, each piece is packaged in its mold where the sand that crumbles down or breaks over time should be collected and compacted in order to re-solidify when in contact with water.

It will return to its origins over again, giving it a new life.

This project represents a change in the throwaway culture where most products will turn to waste if damaged, broken, or disintegrated.

The non-profit organization ADF grants this award to provide a platform for young and successful artists to express their talent.

The theme for this year was “re_ ” which means “to make something new”. Given this, the winners created a project that invites the user to re_cycle and re_build the objects to make them re_born.

It’s been exhibited as part of Tortona Design Week thanks to the branding and design firm GARDE.
