Apple introduces Apple Home Collection with LG and Schneider Electric

The new range brings cameras, a smart lock and climate controls into Apple Home, with shared setup and a coordinated design approach. Availability begins in December 2026 in selected markets.

Apple has announced Apple Home Collection, a range of smart home accessories developed in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Unveiled on October 13, the collection includes indoor and outdoor cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt lock, two thermostats, and temperature and humidity sensors.

The products build on Apple’s existing ecosystem of Works with Apple Home and Matter accessories. For this collection, the company worked directly with both manufacturers to develop a consistent experience across installation, everyday control and automation. Setup begins with a tap of an iPhone, while management takes place within the Home app, without requiring separate manufacturer apps or accounts.

A shared design and control experience

Across the range, the accessories adopt a minimal appearance, with rounded forms and finishes including Essence Graphite, Essence Silver and Essence White, depending on the product. Apple says the collaboration addressed mounting systems and adjustment mechanisms alongside the products’ appearance and how they sit alongside other Apple devices.

Accessories can operate individually or combine through scenes and automations. A departure routine, for example, can lock the door, activate cameras and adjust the thermostat when the last household member leaves. Users can control the devices through Siri.

All products support Thread, and network credentials update automatically when users change their home Wi-Fi. An iPhone running the latest operating system is required for NFC pairing, while additional features depend on the accessory and a compatible home hub.

Cameras and connected entry

LG supplies four camera products: the Video Doorbell Wired, Floodlight Cam, Outdoor Cam Plug-In and Indoor Cam Plug-In. The doorbell uses two cameras to provide separate views of visitors and packages, with a 2.5K front camera and a full HD downward-facing camera.

The Floodlight Cam combines motion-activated dual lights with low-light colour night vision. The Outdoor Cam also offers colour night vision and an adjustable viewing angle. Indoors, LG’s camera physically tilts down to stop monitoring when the first household member returns, with manual and app-based adjustment also available.

With a compatible home hub and iCloud+ subscription, users can access ten days of event video history. Eligible plans and compatible hardware enable Apple Intelligence video summaries and natural-language searches. Built-in storage allows recording to continue during Wi-Fi outages.

LG’s Smart Deadbolt Lock uses Ultra Wideband to detect an approaching user and unlock automatically when they carry a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch with a home key. Alternative access options include tapping a device, entering a PIN or using a concealed physical key slot.

The lock supports Matter and Aliro, with core access functions operating locally without an internet connection. Through the Home app, users can share guest access and combine doorbell viewing with door unlocking.

Climate control across rooms

LG Electronics and Schneider Electric each contribute a smart thermostat, accompanied by standalone temperature and humidity sensors. Both thermostat systems support Matter and work with a broad range of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, with wire detection intended to simplify installation.

Adaptive Temperature uses on-device intelligence from iPhone to adjust settings according to whether residents are home, away or winding down for the night. Room readings can come from the new sensors or sensors built into compatible Apple home devices. In the contiguous United States, Clean Energy Guidance can shift heating and cooling to cleaner, lower-cost periods for customers with compatible utility plans.

Privacy, pricing and availability

According to Apple, Home app personal data and camera footage are encrypted end-to-end and cannot be accessed by Apple, LG Electronics or Schneider Electric. US starting prices range from $199.95 for the Indoor Cam and either thermostat to $399.95 for the Floodlight Cam. The video doorbell starts at $249.95, the Outdoor Cam at $299.95 and the smart lock at $349.95. Room sensors start at $39.95.

The cameras will launch in the US, Canada and UK; the lock, thermostats and sensors are initially listed for the US and Canada. Italian availability has not been announced.
