Established in Florence in 1988 by Laura Andreini, Marco Casamonti, and Giovanni Polazzi, Archea is an architectural design firm with a team of over 200 architects working across offices in Florence, Rome, Milan, Genoa, and Paris. In 2001, Silvia Fabi joined the founders as the coordinator of the studio’s design operations.
Through collaborations with partner companies in Tirana, Beijing, Dubai, and São Paulo, the studio has successfully completed projects in architecture, design, interior design, and graphic design on a global scale. Archea Associati’s interests and research endeavors span from landscape to urban planning, from building design to general design practices. While their primary focus is on architecture, their projects also encompass graphic design, publishing (including overseeing and editing the international architecture magazine “Area”), exhibitions, and applied research.
The synergy between these diverse activities, all centered around the concept of composition at various project scales, fosters an ongoing critical examination of architectural construction themes.
