In 1898, Hans Peter Dinesen laid the foundation for what would become Dinesen, originally named Jels Savværk (Jels Sawmill). Located in the town of Jels in South Jutland, Denmark, the company operated both its production facility and shop from this location. Subsequently, the company underwent a name change, incorporating the family name to become Dinesen Floors.

At its core, the company’s essence was driven by a profound appreciation for wood and Hans Peter’s unwavering dedication to working with the finest quality materials sourced from the forest. Over generations, this reverence for nature has been transmitted from father to son, with each generation growing up within the confines of the old sawmill and perpetuating the family’s deep-rooted passion for wood.

Initially, the demand for their products was local, but today, Dinesen’s floor planks find their way to customers all around the globe. Nevertheless, the foundational principles of this family-owned enterprise remain unaltered. Dinesen continues to be built upon a bedrock of respect for nature and the inherent beauty of raw wood, an unwavering commitment to uncompromising quality, and close-knit relationships with clients and business partners who share in their passion for this timeless material.
