Founded in 1917 in Gavà (Barcelona), Roca began as a manufacturer of cast iron radiators before expanding into the bathroom sector in 1929 with the production of bathtubs. Over the decades, the company evolved, introducing vitreous china in 1936 and faucets in 1954, continuously adapting to changing needs and the importance of water conservation.
Roca’s international expansion took off in the 1990s, entering key markets across Europe, South America, and China. A major milestone came in 1999 with the acquisition of Swiss brand Keramik Holding Laufen, strengthening its presence in Eastern Europe, Brazil, and the U.S. By 2006, Roca had become the global leader in bathroom solutions.
Today, with a presence in over 170 countries, 81 production plants, and more than 21,000 employees, Roca remains a 100% Spanish company and a worldwide benchmark in bathroom design. Its commitment extends beyond products, with the creation of Roca Galleries in major cities like Barcelona, Madrid, London, and Shanghai—cultural spaces that foster dialogue on design, sustainability, and architecture.
