Lucas Faber, an industrial designer based in Berlin, established his own studio in Berlin Tempelhof in 2018 after gaining experience at design studios in Stockholm and Berlin, following his studies in industrial design.
His primary areas of expertise lie in furniture and object design, and he specializes in working with wood and metal. Additionally, he produces limited pieces in small editions and collectibles.
Projects
KOM is a take on a modern design of an architeypical metal chair. Aluminium tube framing with a shell seat and backrest form a sturdy and stable compound. The shells are slightly moulded and correspond perfectly with the curves of the spine.
Rubber is a sleek and linear shoe rack design. The object utilises folded sheet steel and inserts made from recycled rubber. Powder coating ensures the steel frame is highly durable and provides a colour accent.
Traffic is a minimalist interpretation of a solid wood bench. The object draws its inspiration from the bold but reduced benches you can find in public spaces. Applying solid ash and blued flat iron as materials.
