Octavio Asensio is a Madrid-based designer and university professor who founded Octavio Asensio Studio in 2014. His work emphasizes aesthetic values, manufacturing processes, and the expressive potential of materials, resulting in designs that blend functionality with visual impact. In each project, Octavio explores an essential design language, focusing on the connection between users and objects, sustainability, and spatial harmony.
His expertise spans furniture, lighting, and consumer product design, and his creative process involves constant experimentation with forms, materials, and production methods. This approach enables him to uncover new research avenues and innovations that inform his designs. Octavio Asensio’s dedication to design has led to collaborations with furniture companies across Italy, Canada, and Spain. He is also deeply engaged in design education, serving as a tutor for final-year students at the IED Madrid campus, specializing in Home Design, and teaching multiple subjects at the University of Design and Technology (UDIT).
His work has been showcased at prestigious design fairs, including SaloneSatellite in Milan, Greenhouse in Stockholm, Feria Hábitat in Valencia, and Maison&Objet in Paris, earning recognition on an international stage.
