BENU and Helios & Oceanus: a new language of sustainable luxury textiles
For Autumn 2025, Fischbacher 1819 introduces two new textile collections that aim to evolve the future of luxury, blending material innovation, performance, and elevated design.

Known for its timeless approach to textile design, Fischbacher 1819 stands as a positive example of a heritage brand that evolves in the contemporary market without losing its essence. The Swiss company, founded over two centuries ago, continues to weave innovation, tradition, and environmental consciousness into its collections. For Autumn 2025, the brand opens up two new chapters in its portfolio: BENU Recycled Upholstery and Helios & Oceanus, a pair of textile collections that provide sustainable materials and lasting elegance.

The BENU Recycled Upholstery line expands the company’s long-term commitment to responsible production, as each fabric in the collection is made from recycled fibres sourced from post-consumer PET bottles and fashion industry waste. The collection’s range merges performance and aesthetics in its various declinations, from the tactile richness of BENU Bouclé, to the softness of BENU Velvet, to the rhythmic graphics of BENU Globe and BENU Bricks.
What distinguishes the line is not just its recycled origin, but how the material was processed to create a coherent and beautiful result, in which sustainability deepens aesthetic value. Designing sustainably also means designing intelligently, making sustainable materials beautiful enough to be loved and kept in the long term.

While BENU is designed for intimate indoor spaces, Helios & Oceanus provide outdoor solutions. The collection reframes open-air living as a continuation of the indoor space, elevating its comfort and warmth. Made from fully recyclable polypropylene, the fabrics are highly resistant to mould, fire, and UV, and are designed to last. The name of the line pays homage to the titans of Greek mythology, respectively the god of the sun and the god of the sea, as the designs of the textile are inspired by these elements. The line then features seven fabric variations: Helios, Eos, Theia, Oceanus, Perse, Brizo, and Selene.
Interpreting the outdoors as an extension of domestic life has been a recurring trend in the past decade, because of people recognising their need for both comfortable environments and connections with nature and the outdoors, especially after the pandemic. Helios & Oceanus address this need through their designs, which can help gardens and patios feel more like cozy living rooms.

The company’s history began in St. Gallen, a region that has been a European centre for textile production since the 13th century, particularly famous for its linens. Christian Fischbacher started the business at just 16 years old, by collecting cotton fabrics from local women and selling them in St. Gallen. Now the company has grown under the creative direction of Camilla Douraghy Fischbacher and the leadership of Michael Fischbacher, the sixth generation of the founding family, with a philosophy rooted in research and sensitivity to the contemporary world.
Through BENU and Helios & Oceanus, the Brand shows that sustainability and sophistication are no longer separate goals, but partners for a more ecological future. The collections reaffirm the company’s belief that responsible design can be just as beautiful and elegant as traditional luxury, setting new standards for the industry.
