Concrete Architects is a Dutch design studio founded by architect Rob Wagemans in 1997. Based in Amsterdam, the firm works across architecture, interior design and urban development. The firm specialises in branding for the retail, cultural, workplace and residential sectors, with a particular focus on hospitality projects.
This includes projects for Dutch hotel group CitizenM, of which Wagemans is creative director. The studio employs a multidisciplinary team of over 50 designers including architects, interior designers and visual marketers.
Projects
CENTER PARKS COTTAGE - Concrete and Center Parcs embarked on a collaborative journey to reimagine the holiday experience. While Center Parcs had a well-established reputation for its family-friendly holiday parks nestled in natural settings, they aspired to expand their offerings to cater to a more diverse audience.
MACK - This ambitious project involves the renovation and expansion of the historic Mack beer brewery, where the new facility will accommodate the Academy of Music, the Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum, various cafes and restaurants, a sports center, a hotel, residential units, and an Arctic concert hall. Notably, the concert hall will offer breathtaking views of the surrounding water, mountains, and the mesmerizing Northern Lights.
THE WEST RESIDENTIAL CLUB - The West is set to introduce a fresh approach to urban living. It features intelligently crafted condominiums, meticulously designed from the inside out to offer an exceptional residential experience. These condos are seamlessly integrated with studios, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, and an array of expansive communal spaces and outdoor areas, creating a vibrant and dynamic living environment.
