Bjarke Ingels Group, or BIG, is a Danish architecture practice led by founding partner Bjarke Ingels with offices in Copenhagen, New York and London. Established in 2005, BIG is involved in projects internationally and endeavours to create socially, economically and environmentally perfect spaces.

Over the past two decades, BIG has undergone organic growth, evolving from its founder’s vision into a familial organization and eventually expanding into a formidable team of 700 professionals. Their most recent transformation is known as the BIG LEAP, representing Bjarke Ingels Group, which encompasses Landscape, Engineering, Architecture, Planning, and Products.

Within the organization, a diverse range of in-house perspectives has been cultivated, enabling them to uncover insights that would be challenging to discern individually. The collective creative genius is the result of the sum of their individual talents. Each small step taken by any member becomes a significant leap forward for the entire BIG team.

Projects

THE SPIRAL - Positioned between Hudson Boulevard and 10th Avenue on West 34th Street, The Spiral is a notable neighbor to the elevated High Line and Bella Abzug Park in Manhattan's western vicinity. This distinctive tower extends the green spaces of these parks upwards and around its exterior in a graceful spiral, connecting the High Line to the city skyline.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY - The envisioned National Museum of the United States Navy, designed as a state-of-the-art facility, is intended to serve as a place for both Naval veterans and the general public. It is conceived as a living tribute to the heritage of the U.S. Navy and a community beacon for educational and public events. This expansive 270,000 sq ft campus includes a new building and a ceremonial courtyard, with potential plans for renovating historical structures on the site.

COPENHILL - Situated in an industrial zone near the heart of Copenhagen, CopenHill, also recognized as Amager Bakke, stands as a remarkable exemplar in the realms of waste management and energy generation. It also serves as a significant architectural landmark within the Copenhagen cityscape. This innovative structure has taken the place of the 50-year-old Amagerforbraending plant, representing the most substantial environmental initiative in Denmark.
