This eclectic one-of-a-kind collection is brilliantly 3D-printed from recycled PLA from Reflow, a cornstarch-derived bioplastic diverted from landfill.
At the end of the objects’ lives, they can be easily returned to Bene to be recycled again – seamlessly creating a complete, closed-loop production cycle. Its process of printing in layers, skillfully leaves a tactile horizontal ridging on the vertical surfaces.

Pearson Lloyd was determined that this should be a key design feature and decided to use a larger nozzle on the printer to emphasize the ridges as each layer was formed. This additionally had the effect of making the products stronger and more durable – effortlessly extending their longevity.
“The 3D printing technology utilized to craft bFRIENDS represents a highly important step towards a genuinely circular and sustainable model of production” Bene adds.
