Born in Salta, Argentina, in 1975, Francisco Gomez Paz graduated with a degree in Industrial Design from the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba. In 1998, he relocated to Milan, Italy, where he pursued a Master’s degree in Design at Domus Academy.
In 2004, he established his design studio in Milan, and since then, he has created products for renowned design companies like Artemide, Driade, Danese, Landscape Forms, Lensvelt, Luceplan, Olivetti, and Sector, among others. Francisco approaches design with a strong emphasis on curiosity, technological knowledge, materials, and an experimental, hands-on creative process.
His work has garnered numerous international awards, including the Good Design Award in 2010, the Red Dot Award in 2010 and 2016, and the prestigious Compasso d’Oro in 2011. He was also honored with the First Prize of the Index Award for the Solar Bottle, which is part of the MOMA’s Study Collection.
In addition to his design practice, Francisco is actively involved in research and education. He has been a visiting professor at Domus Academy since 2000 and has delivered lectures both in Italy and abroad. His design projects have been exhibited at various international events and featured in major design publications. Francisco currently resides and works in Milan.
