Solar Bottle by Francisco Gomez Paz for Alberto Meda

Born in Salta, Argentina, in 1975, Francisco Gomez Paz graduated with a degree in Industrial Design from the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba. In 1998, he relocated to Milan, Italy, where he pursued a Master’s degree in Design at Domus Academy.

In 2004, he established his design studio in Milan, and since then, he has created products for renowned design companies like Artemide, Driade, Danese, Landscape Forms, Lensvelt, Luceplan, Olivetti, and Sector, among others. Francisco approaches design with a strong emphasis on curiosity, technological knowledge, materials, and an experimental, hands-on creative process.

His work has garnered numerous international awards, including the Good Design Award in 2010, the Red Dot Award in 2010 and 2016, and the prestigious Compasso d’Oro in 2011. He was also honored with the First Prize of the Index Award for the Solar Bottle, which is part of the MOMA’s Study Collection.

In addition to his design practice, Francisco is actively involved in research and education. He has been a visiting professor at Domus Academy since 2000 and has delivered lectures both in Italy and abroad. His design projects have been exhibited at various international events and featured in major design publications. Francisco currently resides and works in Milan.

Projects

FGP URBAN LIGHT - The FGP collection, manufactured by Landscape Forms, encompasses a range of meticulously crafted urban furniture pieces. This collection includes a bench, a litter, a bike rack, a wayfinding light, and a pedestrian lamp. These pieces showcase the exquisite combination of anodized aluminum and high-quality hardwoods, resulting in exceptional quality products. Every aspect of their design has been thoughtfully considered and thoroughly examined to achieve outstanding results.
FGP BIKE RACK - The FGP collection, expertly crafted by Landscape Forms, encompasses a range of elements, such as benches, litter bins, bike racks, wayfinding lights, and pedestrian lamps. These pieces showcase exquisite anodized aluminum paired with top-notch hardwoods of remarkable quality. Each aspect has been meticulously designed and analyzed, resulting in a series of exceptional, high-quality products.
APERO CHAISE LONGUE - This project is a vital component of a collaborative research effort with Sumampa. Its objective is to revive the authentic essence of a craft tradition hailing from the northern regions of Argentina. These areas have been overlooked by the fast-paced consumer market and excluded from the map of progress. Handcrafting holds significant importance in these marginalized regions, offering a chance for individuals to improve their social standing and preserve their cultural heritage for future generations.
