Established in 2004 by Innocenzo Rifino and Diego Rossi in Milan, Habits stands as a versatile multidisciplinary industrial design studio. Their focus lies in crafting technological and interactive projects of global significance, collaborating closely with companies to develop enduring products and immersive experiences.
Comprised of a diverse team including industrial designers, electronic and mechanical engineers, model makers, interaction and visual designers, and interior designers with a global perspective, the studio recognizes the distinct technological expertise found in Asia, leading to the establishment of a branch in Bangkok in 2021.

With over two decades of experience spanning various industries, Habits specializes in digital products, home appliances, automation, lighting, UX/UI design, and phygital interfaces. Their track record boasts an impressive array of accolades, having garnered more than 180 international design awards including the prestigious Red Dot, IF, Compasso d’Oro, Design Plus, Good Design, and German Design Award.
Projects
Arenti – Inspired by the metaphor of the eye, HABITS identified several distinct elements that consistently shape the design across the entire product line. The Arenti optics smart home security camera series offers top-tier cameras that cater to diverse needs, including indoor and outdoor monitoring with motion detection for people and pets. The design ethos aims to enhance the overall user experience, from seamless setup to a fully wireless operation post-installation. HABITS' design philosophy reimagines the camera as an integral component of architectural and interior design. Characterized by a sleek and contemporary aesthetic, the indoor series seamlessly integrates into modern interior spaces, while the outdoor series complements outdoor illumination systems with thoughtful design considerations.
Bluehelix Sublime – The design of the Bluehelix Sublime water heater features a distinctive shape contrast, with a flat panel in the lower section and a soft curve in the upper part of the front face. The concave upper portion not only adds to the aesthetic appeal but also serves a functional purpose by reflecting ambient light, enhancing the overall visual experience. Additionally, we developed both embedded and remote interfaces for the product, including an app, to ensure a seamless and comprehensive user experience.
Cromatica – It represents a unique digital product merging a desk lamp and a speaker, offering control through gestures and a dedicated app. Notably, it marks the first open-source venture within industrial design, enabling users to blend light and sound effects according to their preferences.
Elastica – A versatile linear lamp designed for ceiling-to-floor installation, featuring a heavy base and elastic material that allow for adjustable heights and inclination changes. Habits oversaw every phase of the project, from ideation to prototyping and engineering of both electronic and physical components. The lamp offers intuitive on/off and light intensity adjustment through natural interaction with the elastic fabric. Crafted from two-toned fabrics, the white textile diffuses light from the LED strip, while colored lycra strips on the opposite side add vibrant accents to interior spaces. Elastica's innovative design has garnered recognition, earning the "Premio per l'Innovazione - ADI Design Index 2020" for its groundbreaking contribution to the lighting industry.
Flos Design Space – This space emerges from an abstract setup process aimed at reinstating the syntax of the living landscape through various material layers. Solids, planes, and lines of light intertwine like theatrical wings, creating a sense of depth within the scene, with the lamps taking center stage as protagonists.
Jacqueline – It adds a touch of refined elegance to the art of tea brewing. Its design evokes the traditional ceramic teapot, reimagined with a modern twist in the composition of its parts. Seamlessly integrating aesthetics with IoT technology, Jacqueline's base illuminates with dynamic light patterns, providing ambient feedback on the brewing process status.
Mini Mini – A basic wire adjustment system ensures that the product remains perpendicular, regardless of any asymmetry in the lamp body. This aluminum suspension fixture is designed for spot lighting, accommodating halogen or LED light sources within its slim 25 mm diameter. Inside, a straightforward adjustment system enables fine-tuning of the light beam and facilitates source replacement. The lamp is optimized for use with miniaturized sources featuring reflectors of up to 35W.
Panorama – A partition that skillfully merges the physical and digital realms, leveraging advanced technology to craft a virtual environment that alleviates the strain of sensory overload. Offering a distinct, intimate, and secluded space, it features a dynamic background that adjusts to various activities. The screen seamlessly transitions into a backdrop, blurring the lines between reality and the virtual world. PANORAMA beckons us to not merely observe but actively participate and take center stage in this immersive experience.
Quadra – The Quadra series presents a wall-mounted external video entry unit, featuring a die-cast aluminum faceplate, a wide-angle color camera, and an LED for nighttime illumination. Equipped with capacitive buttons, it offers the flexibility to configure from 1 to 4 call buttons using dip switches.
X3 – The treadmill, created for Xqiao, stemmed from the concept of a sleek and compact product, ideal for home use. The folding mechanism features an effortless release system for convenient storage and reuse. A central knob manages all functions of the interface, offering user-friendly operation. Additionally, the treadmill is equipped with IoT capabilities, allowing it to connect with an app for monitoring sports performance.
