George Geara is a Lebanese designer based in Beirut. After completing his master’s degrees in Architecture and Industrial Design in Beirut and Madrid, he returned to Beirut to implement his design philosophy.
Geara focuses on elevating local trades and manufacturers, pushing them to achieve higher levels of expertise and meet high standards in furniture production. Driven by a passion for research and experimentation, he respects the classic aspects of design while incorporating modern materials, advanced engineering, and master craftsmanship. His goal is to create timeless pieces that align with current trends and maintain the highest possible quality.
Projects
AMALGAM – The Amalgam represents a dialogue of materials, trends, and craftsmanship. For a long time, furniture production relied heavily on manual processes, but in today's world, machinery has become an invaluable tool for makers to meet high societal demand. George Geara feels a responsibility to keep artisans motivated, ensuring their skills are reflected in new creations.
AMALGAM – In the Amalgam collection, George Geara underscores the synergy between artisans and machinery, demonstrating how their collaboration results in exceptional products. He emphasizes the significance of traditional craftsmanship merging with advanced technology, showcasing how these two elements complement and enhance each other in the creation process.
BAR BARON – "Bar Baron," a project by George Geara, reflects the attributes of nobility, power, and influence. This piece embodies a handcrafted dance between traditions and sophisticated elements, seamlessly blending classic craftsmanship with modern design. Through "Bar Baron," Geara showcases his dedication to elevating traditional techniques while integrating contemporary sophistication, resulting in a product that exudes elegance and timeless appeal.
BAR BARON – This piece carries itself with great power on two handmade carved sides, embracing a middle section adorned with genuine leather on the outside and olive wood on the inside, reflecting values of resilience and history. The design is crowned by a dynamic cup holder, creating a connection between the user and the piece—a true manifestation of what defines a baron.
