VOSDING Industrial Design, based in Cologne, Germany, was founded by Peter Otto Vosding in 2017. Vosding, born in Wiesbaden in 1990, studied Industrial Design in Darmstadt and Product Design in Cologne, with an exchange semester at Lund University in Sweden, sponsored by the IKEA foundation.

The studio specializes in furniture, lighting, and consumer products for international clients. VOSDING prioritizes a blend of function, elegance, and value in their designs, emphasizing a logical approach from the outset. They ensure feasibility by understanding production processes, manufacturer capabilities, and client objectives. Effective communication underpins their successful product development process.

As industrial designers, VOSDING excels in rapid comprehension and asking pertinent questions, enabling them to design across various industries and product types. Their designs are characterized by honesty, cleanliness, and adherence to logical principles, ranging from practical servants to whimsical, decorative elements. Ultimately, VOSDING aims to create products that fulfill a need and bring joy to users.

Projects

MARTINI – Drawing inspiration from the iconic silhouette of martini glasses, this adjustable light features a unique design reminiscent of the characteristic olive on a stick. The lampshade is laterally attached to the stand, allowing for easy orientation akin to twisting the olive in the glass.
LOGS – In their creative endeavor, Vosding has sought to capture the essence of wandering through Nordic birch forests, where the beauty and serenity overwhelm the senses. This inspiration is embodied in the Logs mirror, allowing individuals to transport themselves to the midst of a forest, surrounded by trees of similar yet distinct shapes and hues.
QUARTO – Quarto embodies a delicate balance between lightness and solidity, comprised of simple geometries arranged in tension yet always maintaining harmony. This captivating lighting fixture combines two basic shapes—a cuboid and a cylindrical disc—to create an intriguing object.
UP-LIGHT – As a specific category of lighting products, up-lights are commonly utilized outdoors or in technical applications to illuminate walls and ceilings. Vosding aimed to merge this well-established and effective lighting effect with a sculptural yet minimalist design tailored for home environments.
ROW – With Vosding's innovative design, individuals can craft their own vase! The graphic vases, comprised of two or three pieces, offer a multitude of arrangement possibilities for distinct landscapes. The vase's form simplifies flower arrangement by providing numerous corners that securely hold individual stems in place.
TWIST – Twist is a commercial dining chair that offers a classic shape with a unique twist. Its construction is not only logical but also defines its appearance. This results in a chair that is both soft and inviting, space-saving yet comfortable, customizable, and built to last.
SPIELBEIN – Spielbein is a seating solution designed for small to midsize rooms, providing comfortable seating for guests. Each chair features vertical legs on one side and two tilted legs on the other, resembling the stance of a person standing with one engaged leg and one loosely angled leg (known as "Spielbein" in German). When arranged in rows, the tilted legs create the illusion of people sitting cross-legged, adding a unique aesthetic to the space.
ADD – Add is a contemporary bed featuring a geometrically clean design, modular structure, and customizable options. Its solid wood frame supports the mattress, appearing to float above a recessed base. Upholstered elements can be added underneath the frame, while a small wooden tray provides a convenient surface for essentials.
SINN – Sinn is a versatile modular furniture system designed to adapt to various needs and occasions. Consisting of two main modules—a large and a small box—it offers flexibility in arrangement and usage. Each box is equipped with four feet and corresponding slots on the top, enabling easy stacking and stable connections. Simply align the feet with the slots of the boxes below to create a secure and customizable configuration.
BIRDSEED BAG – BirdseedBag combines the functions of packaging and feeding silo into one convenient product. Designed for easy installation in the garden after purchase from the supermarket, it requires simple assembly by the customer. By freeing the cord, taking the stick, pressing in the holes, and reattaching the bag, users can quickly set it up.
