Rooted in the traditional Japanese culture of origami

Japan-based WD fabricates V – a sheet of metal skillfully bent and tailored into a one-of-a-kind wall mounted rack.

Enriching the world through design and connecting it from a unique point of view while discovering new values and expressions, Japan-based WD fabricates ‘V’ – a sheet of metal skillfully bent and tailored into a one-of-a-kind wall mounted rack.

Everyone wants a touch of beauty and vividness in their daily life today – V was brilliantly designed keeping this thought in mind.

“The Japanese have a long history of incorporating elements of ‘folding and making shapes’ into several aspects of their lives and this object was inspired by their traditional culture of origami.

We came up with a product that supports objects by folding sheet metal and then further took a hint from the resulting form, naming it V” says Yusuke Watanabe, CEO and designer WD.

Effortlessly adding a splash of color to one’s space – this innovative minimalistic rack is seamlessly bent, painted and finished from a single sheet of metal.

Making one stop and take in its charm – this eclectic eye-catching object has a presence even when not in use.

“Composed of colored sheet metal, V is shaped like origami paper and one can stick it on their wall to keep their favorite coat or hat from falling off!
When not in use – it simply adorns the wall like abstract art” Watanabe adds.
