Casalgrande Padana’s new ceramic expansions
This year, the Italian brand has expanded the range of their Concept and Lithos collections, taking the ceramic industry further in terms of modularity and flexibility.

As materials and surfaces ranges keep expanding in today’s interior design, we are remarkably curious to see what innovations this year’s Cersaie exhibition has in store. Among the standout presentations we will see in September, Casalgrande Padana’s expansion of their Concept and Lithos collections is at the forefront of 2025’s highlights for ceramics and stoneware.
Cersaie is the international exhibition of ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings, held annually in Bologna, Italy. As the world’s premier platform for this niche industry, it brings together the finest manufacturers, designers, and industry professionals from across the globe. More than just a trade show, Cersaie often serves as a cultural barometer in design, defining emerging trends for the materials that will be in architecture and interior design in the following years.

Casalgrande Padana was founded in the heart of Italy’s ceramic district, in Emilia Romagna, the region where Cersaie is held. The company has decades of experience in stoneware production, and was the first company to produce porcelain stoneware 100% made in Italy. One of their key values is sustainability, as their practices align with the UN’s 2030 Agenda, they have developed their company code of ethics, and most of their suppliers come from Italy as well.
The company’s reputation is built on their foundation of high level research and development, investing continuously in advanced manufacturing processes and sustainable production methods. Their approach to product development is rooted in detail, from the selection of raw material to the final finishing processes. Another key aspect is their commitment to versatile and modular systems, making them a preferred partner for architects and contractors working on projects ranging from residential apartments to large-scale commercial buildings.

Building on the success of their debut at Cersaie last year, Casalgrande Padana returns to the fair this year with an expansion of their Concept and Lithos collections. The expanded collections now offer a range of formats, thicknesses, and specially designed pieces that provide architects and designers with more flexibility for their creative projects.
The Lithos collection is a reinterpretation of Portland stone, capturing the essence of natural stone while delivering the better performance and sustainability of porcelain stoneware. Featuring six sophisticated neutrals – beige, white, grey, black, taupe, and dove grey – the collection has been carefully developed to reflect the subtle differences found in authentic Portland stone.

The tiles are now available in 6 new sizes, each combining different finishes such as natural, satin, and grip. All are 9mm in thickness, with the possibility of a 20mm thick tile designed specifically for outdoor applications. An enhancement to the collection is the add-on of three decorative elements: mesh-backed mosaic tiles, an elegant canneté motif, and curved mosaic tiles. These features provide designers with the tools to create dynamic surfaces, serving as focal points or subtle accents within larger design installations.
The Concept collection focuses less on natural stone and more on urban living, sophistication, and contemporary design. Its tiles draw inspiration from metropolitan style, transforming the industrial appeal of concrete into a more refined solution. Its finishes are soft and cloudy, available in 7 playful colours: blue, green, red, black, grey, greige, and white.

Similarly to Lithos, Concept’s format ranges have been expanded and also include the 20mm version for outdoor applications. The decorative elements for this collection include 20x20cm tiles with low-relief abstract geometric patterns, mosaic tiles with various tesserae options, and large ribbed surfaces in a 60x120cm size.
As the industry continues to evolve toward more integrated, sustainable, and versatile solutions, Casalgrande Padana‘s expanded offerings tailor their collections to architects’ and designers’ growing need for flexibility. We remain curious to see what other developments will emerge from Cersaie 2025, and to find out which materials will begin to inhabit our homes in the next few years.
