Design in every drop: Piero Lissoni’s take on geometry and transparency for Ginarte
With a focus on tactile beauty, minimalist expression, and cultural relevance, this collector’s edition captures the essence of contemporary design in an object meant to be both admired and experienced.

To mark the Milano Design Week 2025, Ginarte introduced a limited edition bottle designed by none other than Piero Lissoni. The collaboration masterfully fused artistic heritage, high-end design, and the spirit of innovation into a single sculptural object.
From a design perspective, the limited edition bottle is a testament to Lissoni’s minimal yet poetic visual language. At first glance, the bottle appears as a clear, architectural monolith—its geometry both crisp and elegant. With its frosted glass finish, it invites the observer to engage in a tactile and visual dialogue between opacity and transparency, a recurring theme in Lissoni’s oeuvre.

The bottle’s clean lines are offset by a central white circular label bearing the bold, black “GINARTE” typography—simple, refined, and unmistakably modern. Embossed on the side, the brand’s payoff “THE SPIRIT OF ART” emerges not just as a tagline, but as an integral part of the design, subtly elevated through the play of light and surface. The accompanying packaging mirrors the bottle’s elegance. Its minimalist palette and partial die-cut window offer glimpses of the abstract motifs inside, creating a layered unboxing experience that emphasizes discovery and refinement.

“Ginarte is a dialogue between geometry and transparency—a balanced synthesis of simplicity and authenticity where the visible and invisible merge into a harmonic experience, just like the taste of the gin,” explains Piero Lissoni.
The Lissoni edition marks more than a design evolution—it reflects Ginarte’s ambition to be more than a spirit. It positions itself as an aesthetic and cultural experience, one that embodies taste, creativity, and visual excellence. According to Francesco Bargellini, Senior Marketing Advisor for Ginarte, “With this collaboration, we reaffirm our identity: a gin that is more than a distilled product, but an aesthetic, sensorial and cultural journey.”

Ginarte‘s ethos is firmly anchored in art—not only in name but in composition. The gin is distilled using botanicals historically tied to artistic pigment production, such as nepitella, cartamo, robbia, reseda odorosa, and guado di Montefeltro, once used by Renaissance masters. Combined with juniper from Tuscany and other elements like hibiscus, elderflower, and pine needles, the result is a gin that is both complex and remarkably pure.
Each bottle is also an open canvas: previous editions have featured custom labels by painters, street artists, photographers, and tattoo artists, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to making each edition a collectible.

With a career spanning nearly four decades, Piero Lissoni is one of the most respected names in global design. As art director for brands such as Boffi, Living Divani, Porro, and Sanlorenzo, and designer of projects from luxury yachts to boutique hotels, Lissoni’s imprint is synonymous with architectural clarity, refined materiality, and emotional minimalism. His Ginarte collaboration is no exception—a fusion of industrial design and artistic storytelling, distilling a bottle that is as pleasing to hold as it is to display.
