Grace Atelier: Three stone inspirations, one design language by Ceramiche Keope

Inspired by Europe’s geological heritage, the brand brings together three collections that explore the beauty and character of stone, alongside a mosaic system that introduces a distinctive decorative dimension to the architectural language of Grace Atelier.

The new project by Ceramiche Keope draws on the beauty and originality of an ancient material shaped by centuries of geological layering: stone. Under the name Grace Atelier, the brand introduces a versatile system that, through its three collections, takes visitors on a fascinating journey through Europe’s geological treasures.

The series explores different resources, combining aesthetic research, design versatility and technical performance to meet the diverse needs of architects and interior designers. The new range comprises three coordinated collections: Grace, inspired by French limestone; Grace Fossil, drawing on Portland Stone and Jura Stone; and Grace Lithos, inspired by Alpine quartzite, complemented by Fragments of Grace, the mosaic system designed by Margherita Rui. Together, they define a visual language that celebrates the character of the original materials, combining their qualities with the high technical performance and durability of contemporary porcelain tiles.

Grace and the aesthetic character of French limestone

Designed for any indoor or outdoor application in residential, commercial and public spaces, this collection draws inspiration from the beauty of Saint Antoine d’Auberoche limestone and seeks to capture the richness of its visual qualities. At a macro-scale, it appears understated and uniform, while a closer look reveals countless details created by contrasting sand grains and small fossils.

The colour palette features three pairs of shades, each combining two different intensities: one light and bright, the other deeper and more pronounced. The earthy greys Grey and Clay, the neutral greys Silver and Iron, and the warm tones Ivory and Beige are complemented by White, an essential white that represents the coolest shade in the series and harmonises with all the others.

Grace’s versatility is further enhanced by a range of finishes designed to meet different project requirements. ULTRAmatt, Ceramiche Keope’s innovative finish, is available in all colours and in sizes ranging from 30×60 to 120×120 cm. Its matte, silky and soft-touch appearance gives the material a natural look. For outdoor areas, R11 offers greater slip resistance and comes in 20 mm-thick 60×60 and 60×120 cm tiles. Natural R9 completes the range with a softer matte texture, available in a 6 mm- thick 120×278 cm slab.

The mineral details of Grace Fossil

The meeting of two distinctive limestone varieties – Portland Stone, featured in some of Britain’s most celebrated buildings, and Jura Stone, a Bavarian material marked by precious fossil inclusions that tell the story of geological time – gives rise to Grace Fossil, a ceramic surface in which luminosity and mineral details coexist in perfect balance.

Available in White, Ivory, Beige, Clay, Silver and Grey, the series retains the same approach that characterises the Grace collection, while featuring a richer, more tactile graphic pattern. The result is an elegant surface distinguished by subtle clouding, fossil traces and delicate tones.

As with the previous series, the material is enhanced by the technological innovation of ULTRAmatt, a finish that minimises reflections to create a matte surface that feels soft and smooth to the touch, while also ensuring certified anti-slip performance. Here, too, the range includes numerous sizes, up to the large 120×278 cm slab, offering maximum compositional flexibility for architecture and interior design projects.

The sparkle of quartzite in Grace Lithos

Quarried in the Aosta Valley, at the entrance to the Gran Paradiso valleys, between the municipalities of Villeneuve and Aymavilles, Villeneuve quartzite is the stone that inspires Grace Lithos. Ceramiche Keope translates its richly detailed mineral texture into porcelain tiles, exploring its different expressive possibilities through two variants: Essential and Wild Graphic.

While the first seeks to capture the purity of the material through balanced, rigorous surfaces, enhanced by elegant split-face effects and subtle tone-on-tone variations, the second expresses the more tactile character of Alpine quartzite. Through pronounced contrasts, deep veining and nuanced shades, the aesthetic effect evokes the feeling of an unspoilt natural landscape, making it ideal for wellness spaces and outdoor projects. This result is made possible by Ceramiche Keope’s latest-generation technologies: the use of bright micro-elements recreates on the surface the striking shimmer of the mica microcrystals typical of Villeneuve quartzite.

The collection combines Keope’s innovative proprietary ULTRAMatt finish, available in both R10 and R11 versions, ensuring high performance in both indoor and outdoor environments. The colour palette includes White, Ivory, Beige, Clay and Smoke for the Essential Graphic. The shades Sand, Pearl and Anthracite, meanwhile, enhance the bolder character of the Wild Graphic. Like the previous series, Grace Lithos offers a wide range of sizes, from the large 120×120 cm format down to 30×60 cm, as well as 20 mm-thick slabs for outdoor use, ensuring visual continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Fragments of Grace: from decoration to architectural language

The final element of the collection is Fragments of Grace, a mosaic system conceived as a true creative laboratory. A project by designer and creative director Margherita Rui for Ceramiche Keope, it explores the expressive potential of the Grace Atelier range.

The combination of geometric rigour, decorative motifs and stone-inspired surfaces gives rise to four variants: Tressé, Domus, Avenue and Pince. Drawing inspiration from the geometric rigour of Modernism and the decorative richness of Art Deco, the four mosaics combine metallic details and glossy glazes, transforming decoration into an expressive component of contemporary interior architecture.
