Following building material Flek’s decidedly impressive introduction in 2019, powered by its unwavering perfectionism, leading manufacturer 3form knew it could do even better. The product development team got right back at it and spent the better part of a decade sourcing new materials and updating the supply chain, ultimately increasing Flek’s recycled content from 71 percent to 100 percent. The outcome, Flek Pure, is constructed from 100 percent recycled materials, primarily sourced from 3form’s own in-house waste, and is translucent, unlike most recycled products on the market. The included pelletized trimmings from the company’s resin products create Flek Pure’s tantalizing terrazzo look.

During the manufacturing process of each unique, closed-loop Flek Pure panel, internally sourced edge trimmings, returned samples, and reclaimed materials of 3form’s signature interlayer system Varia are upcycled. These remnants are encapsulated and the pellets are then meticulously sorted by 3form’s optical sorter for unmatched cleanliness and clarity. A texturized, terrazzo-like material, the final product is superbly sustainable and durable.

Flek Pure’s translucency enchantingly highlights the shadows and silhouettes of the objects behind it. The material can be used for room dividers, privacy partitions, accent pieces, exterior walls, and more. Flek Pure brings depth and subtlety to a wide array of spaces and environments–from restaurants and hotels to corporate offices, healthcare facilities, and others. It is available in 4’x8’ and 4’x10’ panels, with 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ gauges.
Flek Pure comes in Flek Bask (peachy gold) and Flek Crescent (neutral tope), two earth-toned hues from 3form’s 2021 Design Collection, as well as Flek Charge, a bright yellow shade, and a colorless option. These colorways join Flek’s other nine existing colorways, offering designers a captivatingly curated selection of hues.

Flek Pure is the culmination of 3form’s nearly 20-year commitment to Align. A program of earth- and people-centric initiatives, it is focused on three main pillars–people, products, and the planet. Align effectively re-doubles 3form’s efforts to pursue environmentally and socially responsible design and extends to all members of the 3form family. The company is led by its desire to develop materials with profound intentionality that will empower designers, architects, and consumers to make smart choices when it comes to how they buy and build.

Flek Pure is compatible with all 3form hardware systems, one of the largest pre-consumer recycle streams. It is also part of 3form’s Varia product platform, which carries a Greenguard Gold Certification, is Declare Red List Free, and has an Optimized Environmental Product Declaration label. In this way, Flek Pure significantly raises 3form’s internal standards for future products.
As an even more sustainable second generation of architectural materials, Flek Pure powerfully conveys 3form’s relentless commitment to sustainability as each panel is a testament to the company’s adeptness in creating sophisticated, handcrafted, translucent materials that harness form, texture, light, and color.
