ÖÖD introduces an ingenious prefab housing solution

The furniture, Wi-Fi router and even the insulating material are all included

The Estonian company ÖÖD has introduced a prefab housing solution that can be assembled into a fully functional house in 8 hours. In a world where living spaces are becoming more expensive by the day, this is definitely an interesting concept.

As smaller housing units are becoming the norm for most city dwellers, ÖÖD’s newly proposed units are efficiently small. Despite their small size, the units combine great design and engineering excellence to provide a solution that is beautiful as it is efficient.

This ready-out-of-the-box concept makes ÖÖD unit ready for its new inhabitants immediately. This prefab housing is erected using a six post footing system and has all interior communications and wiring are pre-fixed. The walls and floors come pre-insulated with 200mm thick mineral wool.

A beautiful prefab housing, inside and outside

In addition to being so efficient, ÖÖD’s new pre-fabricated units are very well designed. Brick & Wonder Studios have done a great job in designing a residential solution that is as visually impressive as it is efficient and practical.

ÖÖD made the interior much more welcoming and cozy with its wood material and warm colors.

The masterful use of those elements made the relatively small space much more comfortable. On the outside, a mirrored glass on three facades that reflect the surrounding scenery and make the unit seamlessly integrate with the environment.

The top-to-bottom glass facades give the unit’s inhabitants a sense of continuity between the inside and the outside and allows for some spectacular views. With such a beautiful design, prefab housing is becoming a much more attractive option.
