BAUX’s latest fully recyclable acoustic panels and tiles invigorate the indoors with soothing vibrancy

Designed in collaboration with international design studio Form Us With Love, renowned Swedish acoustics brand BAUX’s new X-FELT collection comprises sustainably made precision-cut patterns that can be mixed and matched to create interior rhythms unlike any other.

In Japanese Zen Gardens, Yoko Kawaguchi writes that each Zen garden is uniquely devised and inimitable. Published in 2014, the captivating book explores the notion of how we must look on in a Zen state of mind and only then can we be engaged with “Zen gardening.” Renowned Swedish acoustics brand BAUX’s latest X-FELT collection draws inspiration from the distinct harmony that can be traced in Japanese Zen Gardens–one ever so open to personal interpretation and infinite in both scope and meaning.

Designed in collaboration with international design studio Form Us With Love, each one of the absorbing assortment of precision-cut patterns can be mixed and matched to create riveting rhythms of wandering lines from walls to ceilings.

Aptly dubbed “zenseful acoustics” by Form Us With Love co-founder John Löfgren, the series of large-format, high-performance 1 x 2.8 m acoustic panels and 6 x 6 m. tiles is made from ultra-fine, high-quality polyester fibers sourced from GRS-certified PET. This innovative formula removes the need for harmful fire-retardant treatments. Eliminating these additives significantly reduces the risk of toxic emissions during production, use, and disposal.

What lies at the heart of the advanced PET fiber structure of X-FELT is a layered sandwich construction technique–the smooth, compact, and lightweight structure that is cut into panels and tiles provides a long-lasting acoustic sustainable solution. Rated Fire Class Bs.1-d0 for both wall and ceiling applications, X-FELT can be fully recycled at facilities that process PET or through BAUX’s take-back BAUX Circle Programme.

Aesthetically, the X-FELT collection is composed of intersecting, curvilinear lines that create structured yet flowing geometric compositions. It comes with a rich palette of solid colors and contrasting duo colors to choose from. The design is made up of a repeated grid of rectangular panels, each containing mirrored and rotated variations of the same motif to create symmetrical arches and wave-like curves that interlock, generating a sense of tranquil yet intriguing movement across the surface.

At some intersections, the curves meet at sharp points, adding a layer of structured contrast within a fluid pattern while rhythmic design formulas reinforce a sense of vibrant continuity across the entire wall surface. The lightweight and large-format panels and tiles for walls and ceilings allow for the creation of cohesive yet visually striking superior sound-absorbing installations in larger spaces.
