A stylish mini router for taking WiFi with you on the go

Bangalore-based design studio Surf is a sleek, pocketable router for accessing the WiFi over the 3G network.

Clearly, the Empoise design team wanted to create hardware to match the gadget’s super spec sheet (Surf can be connected via USB and can be used for sharing hardware over the network, for sharing media, printers and the like).

The router has a Qualcomm chipset and a friendly looking shell with micro USB for charging and data transfer.

A Micro USB port is moulded in the silicone casing which wraps around the product to form the outer shell. These devices tend to get dropped during use, so the silicone frame also gives additional protection.

Meanwhile, the centre of the top surface acts as the key for activating the device.

The bottom cover gives access to the SIM card and the battery and the router has a Qualcomm chipset and a friendly looking shell with micro USB for charging and data transfer.

Surf: a techy gadget with style

Routers beat at the heart of your wireless network, which we depend on massively these days. Therefore, it makes sense to design something that’s desirable, especially if it can be taken on the move.

An internet connection is as much an accessory as a sculptural design object at the end of the day. Here, Empoise taps into this idea and makes a piece of tech worth showing off.
