AHA 2025: a new chapter in the celebration of architecture and design

With over 3 million followers worldwide, Architecture Hunter has long been a hub for curated architectural content.

Architecture Hunter is once again turning the spotlight on the creative minds shaping our built environment—and this time, it’s thinking even bigger. AHA 2025 (Architecture Hunter Awards) is their second edition, promising to elevate not just architecture, but the full spectrum of design, from interiors to everyday objects.

After making a strong impression in its debut year, AHA is expanding its reach, reimagining what an architecture award can represent. It’s no longer just about buildings—it’s about the broader ecosystem of design and its role in improving lives.

From digital platform to global award

With over 3 million followers worldwide, Architecture Hunter has long been a hub for curated architectural content. But AHA is where admiration turns into recognition—where the platform’s global community celebrates real achievements in the field. The AHA 2025 edition comes with a refined vision, one that embraces cross-disciplinary innovation and deepens its commitment to positive change. The award process kicks off with a pre-registration phase (which began February 25), offering early access and discounted entry. From there, submissions will be accepted across three waves:

  • Early Bird: March 17 – May 4, 2025
  • Main Entry: May 4 – June 15, 2025
  • Late Entry: June 15 – July 10, 2025

AHA 2025: sesign beyond buildings

In a significant evolution (see the AHA 20240’s winners), AHA 2025 opens its doors to a new field: Product Design. Recognizing that good design doesn’t end at the edge of a building, this year introduces categories for:

  • Furniture
  • Lighting
  • Bathroom & Wellness
  • Urban-use products
  • Small, everyday objects

This shift reflects a belief that well-crafted design—whether it’s a park bench or a pendant lamp—shapes how we experience the world just as much as monumental architecture.

Giving back: social impact at the core

But AHA 2025 isn’t only about awards. It’s about using the platform for good. Once again, 5% of all entry fees will be donated to Construide, a Brazilian nonprofit that provides homes for families in need. This year, that commitment goes even further with the introduction of a brand-new category: Social Architecture. This segment is open to projects that place community well-being at the forefront—think schools, clinics, shelters, and social housing. And in this case, 100% of the entry fees from this category will go directly to Construide.

Celebrating firms at every stage

Acknowledging the wide range of talent across the industry, AHA 2025 also launches two special firm-focused categories:

  • Best New Arch Firm will shine a light on studios founded in the last seven years (2018–2025), highlighting fresh perspectives and emerging voices.
  • Firm of the Year, on the other hand, is reserved for seasoned practices that have consistently delivered excellence. Nominated by the jury, the final choice will rest in the hands of the public.

Free entry for students: leveling the playing field

One of the most powerful decisions in this year’s edition is to make the Student Category completely free—no matter when you submit. This bold move removes financial obstacles, giving young designers a chance to showcase their work on a global stage without worrying about the cost.

An international jury, a broad range of categories

With categories spanning Architecture, Interiors, Landscape, Unbuilt Projects, Visual Media, Sustainability, and Product Design, AHA 2025 casts a wide net. And with a jury composed of respected voices from the global design community, each winning project is guaranteed to be held to a high standard of innovation and impact.

Brand partnerships with purpose

The AHA 2025 wouldn’t be possible without the support of aligned brands that believe in Architecture Hunter’s mission. These collaborations don’t just provide resources—they bring shared vision and creative energy to the table. As the first Brazilian architecture award with international visibility, AHA is carving out a unique space in the design world.

  • Master Sponsor: SKR Arquitetura Viva
