It’s good to finally Meetia

Created by renowned Spanish architect and designer Ramón Esteve in collaboration with Actiu, Meetia is an emotion-imbued, eco-conscious seating collection that can be customized and configured to complement and enliven any business space.

Good design often stems from varying principles of universality as it seeks to, above all else, please. Great design challenges conventions by introducing a foreign nuance–one you didn’t know you needed in your life until that moment. The new Meetia collection blends industrial design discipline with great design.

As an extension of the concept of less is more, based on how extreme simplicity can be the key to a more meaningful and fulfilling life, the collection is the outcome of a fruitful collaboration between esteemed Valencia-based architect and designer Ramón Esteve and Actiu. This Spanish company utilizes a new design methodology to create high-performance office and business spaces.

Meetia includes sustainably made armchairs and single, double, triple, and bench sofas with a unique presence that can be configured in many ways to enhance the ambiance of reception and waiting areas, hybrid workspaces, and corporate environments.

Meetia is a refreshing and much-needed take on reception furniture. In stark contrast to the frequently observed and mind-bending sterility and blandness of business foyers, each collection piece conveys a delicate dance between clean aesthetics, functionality, and seductive comfort. An oak or fabric effect exterior embraces a softly upholstered interior made using only sustainable fabrics. The distinct balance achieved by tapping into the robustness of industrial style and techniques and fusing it with carefully crafted, intuition-driven details can be immediately detected. The consolidated structure of all items guarantees stability even in intensive-use environments.

The high-end collection’s contemporary spirit bears in its customization. A variety of sizes and finishes to accommodate different tastes and styles is available to choose from, and it encompasses single-tone and two-tone upholstery as well as mixed finishes with oak exterior coating and tubular finishes with epoxy paints. The palette for the upholstery features an abundance of shades from muted neutrals and vibrant primary hues, while the variants of exterior frame finishes include bronze, white, and titanium.

All modules are characterized by their boxy architectural profile from the side and a gently curved form on the front. The elegantly proportioned, slender tubular frame around the perimeter is unconventionally exposed, while the sheathed seat, made from high-quality materials such as beech wood and 30 kg. density foam, ensures optimum coziness and comfort. The design allows easy maintenance and replacement of all of Meetia’s components.

Using eco-friendly materials and optimizing all manufacturing processes to minimize the environmental footprint as much as possible are core values Ramón Esteve’s studio and Actiu have in common. Based in Alicante, Actiu has been building its extensive brand portfolio of innovative and sustainable modular collections and products that foster creativity with people’s well-being and health as their consistent focus for the past five decades since its inception. Built around a philosophy rooted in tangible sustainability, Meetia prioritizes low CO2 emission at all stages of production–from product design and manufacturing to storage and transit. All seating options that makeup the collection have been crafted using sustainably sourced steel, PEFC and FSC-certified wood, CHC-free glues, and volatile compound-free coatings.

Meetia allows for the creation of a personalized design language. Each meticulously crafted, detail-oriented piece is infused with the notion, as Esteve intriguingly sums it up, “to sit and feel.” The emotional engine of the collection attests to the products’ shared ability to create an experience very much beyond the visual.
